How to Pay

Study Abroad is commonly thought of as being too expensive, but the reality is that Study Abroad can be affordable. With several options of financial aid including, grants, loans, and scholarships, studying abroad is attainable. Below are details on how to pay for the program cost. USM students should expect to pay a deposit and a full-program payment.
 

• Deposit - This $300 non-refundable* deposit is to be paid on the study abroad portal upon completion of the program application and must be paid in order to submit your application.  Payment can be made via credit or debit card. *See here for refund policy.  

• The remaining balance of fees will be paid on SOAR following the deadlines outlined by Business Services.

Non-USM students are expected to make a total of four payments prior to departure.
 

• Application Fee - This $300 non-refundable* application fee is to be paid on the study abroad portal upon completion of the program application and must be paid in order to submit your application.  Payment can be made via credit or debit card.  *See here for refund policy.

• Payment 1 - Due by April 1, is a $1,000 downpayment paid within the students' USM Study Abroad portal
   
• Final Payment: The remaining balance of fees will be paid on SOAR (USM’s web portal) approximately 30 days prior to departure. Instructions on how to access SOAR will be available on your study abroad portal. 

 

• ONLINE: Pay with a credit/debit card or eCheck via SOAR. Login with USM student ID and password. Make a Payment button is on the home page.

 

• HATTIESBURG CAMPUS: Pay in person using cash, check, cashier's check or money order in room 101 of Forrest County Hall between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (No credit/debit cards)

 

• GULF PARK CAMPUS: Pay in person using a check, cashier's check or money order at the Student Services One-Stop between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (no cash or debit/credit cards)

 

• MAIL: Check payments may be mailed to USM Business Services, 118 College Drive Box # 5133, Hattiesburg, MS 39406. Please be sure to write your  USM student ID number on the face of the check.

 

• INSTALLMENT PAYMENT PLAN: Divide payments due on SOAR with Business Services' Installment Payment Plan. Click the link for details.
